In the world of fashion, trends change just as fast as the seasons do, and sometimes even faster. I’ve narrowed down the most popular latest and current beauty trends that are absolutely worth trying out because it can be tricky to identify what’s in and what’s out.
Last season, clean and fresh faces was the theme with bedroom hair to boot but this time we’re going for somewhat the contrast. You’ve got bold eyeshadow and classic looks, but the look is definitely bolder overall.
Bold, plump lips
The bold lip with a bare face is simple but striking enough to make a statement. Bright reds, pinks, oranges and coral lips have been trending when it comes to catwalk looks, but with an understated and bare face. Personally, it’s one my favorite looks because it’s easy to achieve. Natural doesn’t always have o be nude. This look is perfect for days when I don’t have the time to put on a full face of makeup. A few swipes of a brightly colored lipstick, a bit of light blush and press powder is all you and I need.
Glamming up the lower lids
Models have also been seen wearing glitter just under the waterline and bottom lashes. This is a bit of a twist to the usual glitter liner on the upper eyelid close to the lash line. Keep the rest of the face natural if you’d like to get this look, but remember to spray some setting spray on your glittered lashes.
Straight, long, and tousled
Think Cher from Clueless. That is a simple but classic look that also screams sexy but not trying too hard. Try this hairstyle with the parting in the middle.
Glammed up nails
I get it, this one is not for everyone. I’m not talking about chunky fancy gems that most nail salons have on offer, but if you like that, go for it. You may also go for the more dialed down look by using smaller crystal embellishments and lining them up side-by-side around the nail bed in a semi-circle.
Dewy looking skin is the end goal here. I’ve noticed that sunkissed skin that’s glowing, flushed, and radiant have been all the rage in catwalks recently. Use a toner with hyaluronic acid or a luminizing serum to help you achieve this look naturally.
Cut crease eyeshadow
If you like watching beauty influencers on YouTube and Instagram, then you know this is all the rage. If not, don’t worry. Simply put, the cut crease is a specific technique in applying eyeshadow on the upper lid to create a striking illusion that you have a deeper eye socket. It may also deliver an illusion that you have bigger eyes. The trick to achieving this look is “painting” on a somewhat contrasting lighter color on top of your base eyeshadow. All you have to do is trace your crease with the contrasting color and try to create a definitive line between your brow bone area and your eyelid.
Pop of color
Shelf your nudes for more eye-popping electric blues, green,s and purples. Use a flat eyeshadow brush to maximize the level of pigment payoff and blend it out with a fluffy eyeshadow brush.
It’s the holidays anyway, so why not make this a signature look at least during the season? Nowadays we’re seeing glittered eyeshadows flying off the shelves. But it does’t have to stop with your eyelids. There are also body glitters and chunky glittered highlights available in the market for a timely and fun festive look.
I ever imagined that I would actually like bold reds, maroons, and oranges on my eyes but here we are. You’ve also got shades of rust, coppers, and yellows trending recently, with matching bold mascara and nude lips to avoid a clown face.
Have you tried any of these trends? Do you plan to? Cause I sure did! Let me know if the comments how it goes!
