Usually, we love taking care of our face and hair, but we often ignore the beauty and health of our hands and feet. For this post, here are some wonderful, natural spa treatments using only natural ingredients that you might even be able to find in your kitchen.
Homemade beauty treatments for hands
1. Lemon hand lotion
With the regular washing and being exposed to the elements for much of the day, your hands can quickly dry out, so they need taking care of, if you want to keep them soft and smooth. For a simple homemade hand lotion that will rehydrate your hands fast, simply mix a cup full of glycerine with 5 tablespoons of lemon juice.
2. Intensive care hand cream
This natural hand cream recipe is ideal for hardworking hands, or hands that have become very dry and chapped. You will need: 1 tablespoon beeswax, 10 drops myrrh essential oil, 10 drops cedar wood essential oil, ¼ cup shea butter and two tablespoons of almond oil. Melt the beeswax, shea butter and almond oil in a double boiler, allow it to cool for five minutes, and then stir in the essential oils and leave it until it has set completely.
3. Olive oil and lemon juice for nail strength
This is a simple and really effective way to strengthen your nails with nothing more than olive oil and a little lemon juice. Simply mix together a tablespoon of olive oil and a couple of drops of lemon juice and then rub that into your nails each night before you go to bed. If you keep up with that routine, it won’t be long before your nails are super strong and crack free.
4. Tea tree oil as nail fungal infection treatment
If your nails have become yellowed, it could be that are using dark nail polish too often. On the other hand, it could also be that you have a nail fungal infection. If the latter is the cause of your yellow nails, then try applying tea tree oil to your nails. Leave it for five minutes to sink in and then wash off again with warm water. Tea tree oil has very potent anti-fungal properties that should have your nails cleared up in no time at all.
5. Apple cider vinegar to remove warts
Warts on the hands are embarrassing and they can be painful too. For a quick and natural way to get rid of warts, try soaking a small cotton wool ball in apple cider vinegar and then taping that over the wart with some sticking plaster. It might sting a bit, but the acidity of the vinegar will attack the wart and eventually you will be able to remove the wart easily.

6. Mint and tea tree oil foot scrub
Here is a wonderful recipe for a mint and tea tree oil foot scrub to remove hard skin. For this one, you will need coarse sea salt, tea tree essential oil, peppermint essential oil, and carrier oil. Fill a jar three quarters full of sea salt and then add the carrier oil until it covers the salt. Then, add five drops of each of the essential oils. Use this scrub two or three times a week and see the amazing difference that it makes.
7. Himalayan Crystal salt for athlete’s foot
If you are troubled with athlete’s foot, then Himalayan crystal salt and apple cider vinegar will soon sort that out. Give your feet a soak in half a cup of apple cider vinegar and two tablespoons of Himalayan crystal salt mixed up in some warm water. The acidity of this mixture will kill off the fungal infection that causes athlete’s foot after a few applications.
8. Refreshing peppermint foot soak
Had a long day on your feet? Well, this amazing foot soak is guaranteed to refresh your feet and relieve those aching muscles. Just soak your footsies in a hot bowl of water with 3 drops of peppermint essential oil, a drop of lemon essential oil and a drop of eucalyptus essential oil and feel the stresses and strains of the day float away.
9. Black tea to get rid of foot odor
We couldn’t do tips for feet without having at least one tip for curing foot odor. It’s a problem that plagues most of us at some time, but there is a simple solution. Boil up two cups of water with two black tea teabags and then allow the tea to cool for a while. Plunge your feet into the warm tea and the tannic acid will kill off all the bacteria that cause foot odor. Test that tea first, though, we don’t want you scalding your feet!
10. Honey soak for cracked heels
Honey is a great natural moisturizer and it also acts as a humectant, which means that it locks moisturizer into the skin. To treat dry and cracked skin on the feet, add a cup of raw honey to a bowl of warm water and soak your feet in it. It will soften the feet, help cracks to heal, and it will also fight any fungal infections too.
